MATCH (Medical Advocacy Together for Community Health) is a group of General Practitioners who think that the community health model is the model best suited to meeting the health and well-being needs of Australians who are currently marginalised by the mainstream health care system.
These Australians experience worse health outcomes than other Australians. These groups include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, people with insecure housing, those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, those who use Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), those who are living in or close to poverty, and those with living with disability. We have come together to advocate for increased involvement and funding of Community Health and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Centres, in order to achieve Health for All. (Alma Ata Declaration 1978)
